When the Sorting Hat explores your brain’s capillaries, it’s searching for the house that makes your heart… and your brain, truly thrive!
Description:
Sometimes, there’s no need to board the Hogwarts Express to encounter the Sorting Hat. But why limit ourselves to just one house? Thanks to advancements in neuroscience, we can explore a wide array of magical horizons revealed through the human brain’s capillaries.
Ravenclaw shines through the brilliance of DAPI, tinted in blue,
Gryffindor blazes in the fiery red of Collagen IV,
Slytherin weaves its path through the vibrant green of ApoER2,
And Hufflepuff flourishes in the golden harmony of colocalization.
Together, these colors, united in scientific magic, push back the forces of darkness. With perseverance and hope, we can defeat the real Death Eaters—those fearsome neurodegenerative diseases that Muggles dread so much.

Keepers of the CNS
Description:
In the epifluorescence microscope picture, pericytes (gray), astrocytes (magenta) and microglia (yellow) interact with the endothelia cells/blood vessels (blue). Here are some examples of pericytes covering blood vessels, astrocytes and their end-feet touching the vessels, as well as the contact of the microglia with the blood-brain barrier cells. These interactions are key on development, protection and homeostasis of the CNS.
