Invitation to the 6th Interdisciplinary Research Day – AELIÉS

The Association des Étudiants et Étudiantes de Laval Inscrits aux Études Supérieures (AELIÉS), the official association for graduate students at Université Laval, invites you to the 6th edition of the Interdisciplinary Research Day.

Time: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Location: Grand Salon (POL-2244) & Hydro-Québec Amphitheater (ADJ-2530)

This free event provides an opportunity for master’s and doctoral students at Université Laval, along with their professors, to showcase their research to the academic community and the general public.

This year’s theme is The World Through a Researcher’s Eyes. Have you ever wondered how scientists, researchers, and scholars perceive and interpret the world around them? This theme also explores how researchers see the world and how the world sees researchers.

As part of the 6th Interdisciplinary Research Day, students from all faculties at Université Laval will present their research topics and share their perspectives on the world. Presentations will take the form of either a five-minute poster presentation or a five-minute oral presentation.

Three main presentation categories will be featured:

1. The Extraordinary in Our Everyday Lives
2. My Research Could Change the Future
3. From Past to Present: How Have Things Changed?

To participate in the best presentation competition, your presentation must include at least one relevant element related to one of these three categories. This could be a phrase, a statistic, or an explanatory section—use your creativity and imagination.

Students can also enter the following special competitions:

1. Best Professor-Student Duo
2. Personal Victory in Research
3. Best Infographic

The event will also feature representatives from various Université Laval services offering free and comprehensive support to researchers. There will be practical workshops, conferences, and a networking event (5 à 7).

At the end of the day, awards will be given to the top three poster presentations (all categories combined), the top three oral presentations (all categories combined), and the winners of the three special competitions.

Since this event is open to all students, spots are limited. Register now by completing the form. The registration deadline is February 20, 2025.
