Parcours Vision: Becoming Your Own Ally — Strategies to Protect Mental Health in Graduate Studies
Graduate studies demand rigor, perseverance, and resilience — but also self-kindness.
This 90-minute interactive workshop explores self-compassion, a mindfulness-based approach supported by scientific research to help reduce stress and anxiety, lower the risk of burnout, and enhance well-being and motivation throughout the academic journey.
Inspired by the work of Kristin Neff (University of Texas) and Christopher Germer (Harvard Medical School), self-compassion involves treating oneself with the same understanding and care one would offer a friend facing difficulty.
Through concrete examples, group discussions, and practical exercises, participants will explore:
the core mechanisms of self-compassion;
common myths and misconceptions;
simple, actionable strategies to protect mental health and strengthen academic resilience.
Because taking care of yourself is not a luxury, but an essential condition for success and flourishing.
