PREDIS: two-part training activity focused on Research Data Management (RDM)
Hello everyone,
The PREDIS platform is pleased to invite you to a two-part training activity focused on Research Data Management (RDM)—a key component of successful and responsible research practices.
Are you planning to submit a grant application this fall to one of the major funding agencies? Would you like to strengthen your Data Management Plan (DMP) and better understand best practices in scientific data management?
This training is designed to support you in doing just that.
Part 1 – Introduction to Data Management Plans
When: June 26 or July 9, 2025, 1:00–2:30 p.m. (via Zoom)This session will cover:
· What a DMP is and how it varies by research type (e.g., basic, clinical, sociological)
· Tools available to create DMPs aligned with best practices
· How to choose and use appropriate data repositories
· How to adapt a DMP for grant submission to one suitable for ethics review
· Handling of sensitive and personally identifiable information (PII)
Part 2 – Hands-on DMP Workshop
When: August 21 or 27, 2025 (in person)
In this practical session, we will work with you individually or in small groups to develop or refine your DMPs. Together, we’ll turn the “what” into a detailed “how”—including procedures for data handling, backup, recovery, logging, and auditability.
