
Resulting from technology developed at Université Laval, it aims to optimize and accelerate the diagnosis of mental disorders.
Developed by Professors Marc Hébert and Michel Maziade, along with Professor Chantal Mérette from the Faculty of Medicine, the technology will enable faster detection of mental disorders—conditions often diagnosed only after many years of clinical uncertainty—thereby reducing individual suffering and lowering the costs associated with specialized care. With more than 57 million people in North America affected by mental health disorders, this breakthrough could significantly ease the burden on healthcare systems while paving the way for new therapeutic applications.
